Repiping Service Reviews in Encinitas
"We had questionable slab leak from having warm/hot spots on our travertine floor, my husband called Leak Star on a Monday at 7AM and was provided an estimated quote over the phone. We already knew the price range after speaking with neighbors. Timo who answered the phone came out by 9AM that same day. "I smelled gas in my laundry room and called Leak Star at about 8:30am. Timo arrived at 10:15am (the promised time) and the leak was fixed by 11:15am including a trip to get a part. Very professional, fast and prompt service! Price was also reasonable compared to other plumbers in my area. I will definitely use Leak Star again." Trish in Encinitas on Yelp "Late last Friday, my downstairs neighbor informed me that my water heater was leaking. Saturday morning I did some searching and found Timo. And thank goodness I did! I think poor Timo thought it was just a water heater replacement, because what did I know about water damage, mold and the dissolution of a concrete pad? Thankfully the water heater is out on the balcony in a small closet, otherwise the damage to my unit and my neighbors would have been much more extensive. At it was, Timo had to help tear out the damaged drywall for both my unit and the neighbors, then brought in equipment to dry out the closet. And then, because he's just a good guy, he found a drywall installer for me (even though that was not his job). And THEN, because the concrete pad literally had turned to sand because of the leak, he mixed and poured a new pad for me. Remember, he's supposed to do plumbing, not construction! But, Timo did it all with professionalism, kindness and as quickly as he could. To top it off, he listened patiently to my random lawyer questions and took a lot of time to walk me through my options and provided me sound advice, on top of stellar service. I would recommend Timo to anyone." Google User in Encinitas on Google Services Repiping in San Diego County Cities: Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Solana Beach, Vista CA, San Marcos, Rancho Santa Fe

Repiping Service in Encinitas 760-519-8466You have a water line leak, now what? Your wall is wet, the carpet is soaked. You really need to think fast call Leak Star in Encinitas. We specialize in leak detection and we are experts at repiping and reroutes. We provide a repiping service that is not just a temorary fix using a lining of the pipe.
There are two options when repiping or rerouting. Pex pipe and copper pipe. The information listed below is based on repiping or rerouting using PEX pipe which is flexible plastic tubing. We don't generally suggest copper pipe because it is the additives in the water that cause the errosion inside of your copper pipes in the first place. Until that changes, water leaks in copper pipes will continue to plague Carlsbad homes. What is the difference in repiping and a reroute? A reroute is generally speaking of a single water line. The leaking pipe is abandoned and a new pipe is routed through a different accesible path. Repiping can refer to that single line or it can also be used to describe replacing all of the water lines in the home. What does repiping or reroute cost? That will vary. Here at Leak Star Advanced Leak Detection we charge $1700 for repiping or rerouting a single water line. This may vary up some depending on the size of the home. We also provide leak detection in Carlsbad and the surrounding areas. If we do your leak detection with a typical cost of $200 and we do the repiping, you leak detection is included. So your our of pocket expense when using our repiping service is still $1700 with the leak detection included. If repiping the whole house is what you want to do in order to avoid future water leaks, that starts at about $3000 for a small house. Of course the larger the house, the more the cost in time and money. If you have had more than 2 water line leaks, repiping the whole house is probably a more cost effective way to go. How long will the repiping take? Normally, a single line should be completed within a day, barring unforseen circumstances. Even with all of the leak detection equipment we use, sometimes knowing exactly how the water lines were originally run is a puzzle and there can be 20-30 water lines running through your walls, ceiling and under the concrete slab in a smaller home. Finding the exact leaking pipe can get a little complicated, especially if the leak is very small. You should still have your water leak repaired and water running by the end of the day. Even if your job is a bit more challenging and takes longer than hoped for, you price will not change for the single line. If you choose to repipe the entire house, you an expect a 2-3 days and up to a week or longer for larger homes. Generally if using PEX pipe, moving out is not required. Water lines will be run and after the immediate water line leak is repaired, water will not need to be turned off but for a short time at the end while all new water lines are connected to the main water source. We strive to be as clean as possible, using barriers to minimize the spread of dust. What about repiping for under concrete slab leak? The thought of a slab leak probably makes yoou shudder with visions of a jackhapper in your living room, tearing up your stone or beautiful wood floor. Rest assured, that is not our first choice. In fact it is extremely rare to need to tear up floors. Generally a reroute around the slab leak through the walls is the best option and will create the least amount of damage. What damage will repiping do? If your water leak is small and the water damage is fairly isolated the damages could be very small. Smaller holes are generally cut in the drywall where an older functioning water can be accessed and used. Then the new PEX pipe will be fished through the walls with additional smaller holes by comparison being created in order to pull the PEX pipe through. On occasion there may be longer drywall cuts but sometimes smaller holes are all that is needed. Copper will create more holes usually. Who fixes the damage after the repipe? We are plumbers and not in a position to repair the drywall. We are very careful to only cut what is a must for investigation and repiping. Those repairs are the homeowners responsibility, but we will help wherever we can so you can find someone trustworthy who does a really nice job. |
