Underground Slab Leaks

At Leak Star one of our specialties is locating all of your plumbing leaks. Slab leaks are one of the plumbing leaks that can be trickier to find. Making the repairs can be a bit complicated too.

You may be able to visibly see the water as it seeps up through cracks and seams in your concrete slab You be able to feel a hot spot on your floor. However finding where the water is coming from is never clearly visible on sight.

If you are not careful in your choice of plumber, you may very well end up with several exploratory holes drilled through your concrete. Those kinds of repairs can be expensive.

Once we have located the plumbing source responsible of you slab leak we can also make your repairs. You will usually have a couple of options to consider when making your slab leak repairs.  With our expertise we will help you chose the right option for your home and financial situation.

  • In Floor Repair: This type of repair requires removal of the flooring and concrete to access the leak. This option can be particularly difficult due to post-tension slab (contain rebar).
  • Water Line Re-route: This option is usually what we recommend. We bypass the leak altogether going around from another route. Leaving an already leaky pipe in the ground will likely have you dealing with another slab leak in the near future.

  • Rising water bill.
  • You may hear running water when there is no water running in the house.
  • Hot spot on the floor.
